The Mobile Internet Market

Today I was a guest blogger on LiveCrunch. Here is the article that I guest blogged.

As consumers of the technological age, we are always striving to get access to information when we want it, where we want it, on the device of our choice, and quicker than ever before.

As a result, this has seen the invention of web enabled mobile phones, allowing us full access to our emails and the internet. Well known examples include the BlackBerry and the iPhone.

I came across this article on ReadWriteWeb called, “Is the Mobile Web Dead? Some Mobile Entrepreneurs Say Yes”, and as an entrepreneur I was really surprised to read such a title.

After reading the article, comments and the original post that it linked in more depth (‘The end of Mowser’, by Russel Beattie), I came to understand that Russel believes the current state of mobile applications no longer has the traffic.

The introduction of the iPhone has lifted the already high expectations of users, and as consumers, we now require a clean friendly mobile web experience, that is emulates the web experience we have on our PC’s and notebooks.

This is a very interesting idea and the idea that we are always striving to get more out of our devices is great.
So, is the mobile web dead? I don’t think so. I think it has only just taken off, and we are going to see some exciting things to come.

There are two important lessons to learn from this article:
1. Don’t believe the first thing you read in an article. Make sure you read the comments, and make sure you follow through other links in the articles to read more
2. The future of the mobile web is approaching, so if you have an idea, be entrepreneurial and give it a go!
