		<description>Hey Tony,

Thanks for the information. Very interesting points you brought up.

iPhones are definately superior with regard to screen quality, and web browsing. And I agree that blackberries are probably better for only email.

From my experience, having played around with both the side-mounted clickable thumbwheel, and the new central sensitive touch button, I do liek the way they have moved.

3G capabilities are definately a consideration.

I think I will have to take you up on that demo at some stage, especially while I am in the debating period of my potential purchase.

Thanks for the comment and information.

Cheers,
Josh</description>

		<description>Josh
I've used two Blackberry models (the earlier blue classic model, and later the 7100v), plus I've had a play with the new Blackberry and iPhone. I currently use the Palm Treo 750.

A few points worth considering:
- the newer Blackberries have dispensed with the side-mounted, clickable thumbwheel, which I just adored and I believe this was the reason they were so addictive and became known as "crackberries" Now they use a joystick/touch sensitive central button. It takes some getting used to, and is not as easy as the thumbwheel. I really dont know why they went this way.
- the iPhone has WiFi and an incredible browser. If you plan on using wireless hotspots it would be the way to. I dont think Blackberries have WiFi, and if they do, their screen is not a patch on the iPhone.
- neither phone is 3G (yet) I think this is a major issue as Aussies have great 3G networks now. I run Telstra's NextG on my Palm Treo 750 and it is sweet. Expensive, but great performance.

I would get the iPhone, but wait for 3G support. If you cant wait, get either my Treo, Ron's N95, or look at the new Nokia N?? just coming out.

Ultimately it depends on whether you plan to do more browsing or emailing - emailing is Blackberry's sweet spot, browsing is iPhone's. But wait for 3G otherwise browsing is not so sweet.

I'd be happy to demo some of the cool things I do with my Palm. I wont be going back to 2.5G phones anytime soon.

Cheers
